Jenny Strathdee
Community Member of the Year
At the January regular City Council meeting, the Council voted unanimously to award and recognize Jenny Strathdee as Community Member of the Year for 2022. Jenny was delighted to learn that the Council selected her for this distinguished award. Jenny relocated to Donald in August 2012 after retiring from Baldwinsville Central School District in New York State as a Special and Elementary Educator. She has resided in small towns in her family’s past and was pleased with her family’s move to a rural, small-town setting for retirement. Her husband, Neil, and family have always considered volunteering a great way to meet and make new friends and become familiar with the area. Jenny was an active Donald Hazelnut Festival Committee member for over four years, currently enjoys volunteering at the N. Marion Primary school, is a registered CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) member for Marion County, is an active volunteer for the Donald Beautification Group (DBG) and serves on the Donald Budget Committee. Jenny enjoys traveling with her husband during the year, especially the National Parks through the U.S. She enjoys the company and enthusiasm that the Donald community displays and hopes more community-minded people will contribute to the City’s many opportunities. Thank you Jenny, for all you do for the City and community as a whole.
