Celebrating Our Public Works Staff!

Celebrating National Public Works Week 2026

Each year, communities across the country recognize National Public Works Week as a time to celebrate the dedicated professionals who keep our cities running safely and efficiently. This year’s observance takes place May 17–23, 2026. We are proud to recognize the hard work and commitment of our public works team, whose efforts often happen behind the scenes but make a visible difference in our community every day. From maintaining streets, water and sewer systems, and storm drainage infrastructure to ensuring reliable utility services, public works employees play a vital role in the quality of life we enjoy. Public works professionals respond in all kinds of conditions rain or shine, day or night to maintain the critical infrastructure and services residents depend on. Their work supports public health and safety, environmental stewardship, and the economic strength of our city. National Public Works Week also provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of infrastructure investment and strong community partnerships. Whether repairing roads, maintaining parks and public spaces, managing utilities, or preparing for emergencies, public works staff help build and sustain strong communities.

During National Public Works Week, we'd like to encourage residents to take a moment to thank the individuals who help keep Donald running every day.
